When I started reading the book I felt a little bit bored reading it but I still continued anyway. The book caught my attention when Simon asked Rachel for some time to be alone. You know, boys were really good about this thing. Then when they talked outside the pub where in Simon showed that he's really an arse. I think it's a really stupid thing to do guys, asking your girl some time to be alone and all that and assuring her that it wouldn't be a serious break as in break thing. But after some time apart while she's like waiting for you to figure out the missing piece in your life, you were actually like starting a new life on your own. It’s very unfair! Like seriously, I felt Rachel’s agony at that part and I was really like; ‘Oh, I’m really going to read this novel! I think I love it!’
So yeah, Simon broke up with her officially and all that. Personally for me, I think the stupidiest thing that Simon did was to broke up with her in front of many people, went home with her that night and made love with her and boom! Disappeared early morning! During that part, I can feel her! As in super swear! I’m hurting too for Rachel. I just don’t really want to know any girl who’d been dumped by their stupid ex’s! I hate men! I hate them when they’re doing this.
Moving on, that’s where the story begins. They came up with this ‘Single List To- Do List’ thingy and Rachel took them seriously. Ten things that she had never imagine she’ll do. That’s where the story revolves, on how Rachel accomplished the ten to-do list that she together with Em and Matther made.
So to make my review a little bit different this time I’ll share some of my favorite lines from the novel itself.
“I’m not saying you weren’t happy before, but you’re not happy now. Things change, you know, that’s not always bad.”
It's really true. We’ve might been happy yesterday but it doesn’t mean and will never assure us that we’ll still be happy tomorrow. Things do really change.
“….but the end result was always the same, no matter how many times I ran through out. I’m not the one. He doesn’t love me. He doesn’t want me.”
The most awful thing to realize is that no matter what we do, it’ll always be the same result after all.
“Real relationships were difficult and required work. They needed understanding and compromise. You couldn’t just run away when things got though…”
But sadly, not all can understand and compromise. There will always be that one partner who’ll always give up and will just run away.
“Oh god, I look like Justin Bieber!”
Haha! One of the funniest part of the book. When Rachel cut her hair and she said this line. LOL
“If he didn’t want me in his life, I didn’t want him in mine.”
That’s the spirit of a person’s who’d just been left behind. True :p
“Who wants a boyfriend where you’ve got bigger balls than they have?”
Come on! This is so much true! Now a days, girls have a bigger balls compared to those men who don’t really know how to value the things/persons they have.
“..you probably did me a favour. Im pretty great. And pretty great is too good for you.”
For all the arsehole men out there without enough balls to value their ladies!
“Good. You’re better off without him.”
Yes! If those guys don’t want us in their life, so be it! We’re better off without those asses! Boo!
“Sooner or later you’re going to find someone who knocks you right off your feet . Someone who makes you feel alive. Someone who kisses you and makes your knees week. Relationships are complicated enough as it is. It’s not worth settling for anything else.”
Umm… Complicated! :D
“The point of the list wasn’t just to tick items off and forget about them, it was to learn something new. And the most important thing I’d learned was that I could do anything.”
Yeah! Cheers for that! Anyone can do anything! This may serves as an inspiration to us. :p
“A man can’t make you happy if you’re not happy with yourself, you know.”
Point well done. ^^
Well yeah! That’s all I want to share. Hehe. The novel was really good! Cheers to that, ladies! We all deserve to be love, let’s make this novel our turning point to valued ourselves even more. We’re not just a lady. We’re a wonderful creation of God so we need to be valued and treasured. Smile!
